A tip in general: if you bookmark a spot in a deadspace and warp to it, you will end up at the accelerator gate leading into the first level of that deadspace. If the deadspace disappears (like a mission deadspace, instead of a complex), you will warp to the exact spot in space where the deadspace was. This is a good way to pick up loot you leave behind in a mission deadspace. Just kill all the npc's, bookmark at least one container on every level and pick up the loot after you call in the mission success and the deadspace disappears.
Safespots
One creative way to use bookmarks is to create so-called safespots (SS). SS are spots in space, at no particular object. Having bookmarks to such locations can be very useful if you're being followed or want to be hard to find, since people will need to use scan probes to be able to warp to you.
When you are at a safespot, you will still show up on a scanner. So, it pays to create a safespot that is out of maximum scanning range (roughly 14.35 AU) of any of the objects in the system (gates, planets, moons etc.). It is easy to determine if you succeeded, by scanning at maximum range from the safespot. If nothing shows up, nothing is in range.
How to create safespots
Using the add bookmark button in the P&P window, you can create bookmarks while you are warping. The resulting bookmark will mark the point you were at when the server got that request. It takes a bit of practice to get bookmarks right in the middle of a warp, but it is possible.
Another way to get to safespot is by a technique called warp slamming. Warp slamming means draining your capacitor to a point where it is nearly empty. That way, you won't be able to make it to your destination and will drop out of warp somewhere inbetween start and end of the warp. One way to drain the capacitor is repeatedly going to warp and then cancelling it (by hitting Ctrl+Space).
Safespots and other bookmarks
If you create safespots that are inbetween locations you have bookmarked, you'll still be on the straight line between these locations. As a result, the bookmarks will work from the safespot, which will make the safespot a lot more useful.
