How to create bookmarks

There are 2 basic ways of creating bookmarks. You can either rightclick an item in space, on your overview or in search results and select "bookmark location ...". Or you can open the "People & Places" window and go to the "Places" tab. Select "Add Bookmark" at the bottom and you will bookmark the location you are at.

Note that using the "Add Bookmark" button also works in flight or warp and you will be bookmarking the location you were at (according to the server, not your client) at the time of clicking the button. You can then name the bookmark at your leisure.

Why to create bookmarks

You can warp within 0km of any object in space, but sometimes you want to position your ship in location in space that doesn't have any objects.

For example:

• You want to snipe a gate from a comfortable 160km, outside the range of the sentry guns.
• You want to arrive close to your Silo in a POS, instead of bumping into the tower.
• You prefer mining away from the warp-in point in a belt, as far as you can get from rat spawns too.
